1)can a person steal power by directly hooking on the transmission line of 11kv ? mostly people steal power by hooking on the distribution lines.
2)i am working on a prototype in which power from the pole to the single house is monitored. Is there any method to extend this idea to three or more houses.
3)a meter on pole and a meter on the house will be used. micro controller will detect the difference and sigal to zigbee that there is a power theft. SO is there any way we can know the exact location of theft ?
1) yes - given they have the transformer and a place to hide it and the high voltage expertise to make a connection without self-incineration
2) if the one pole supplies power to multiple houses one could compare the pole-meter with the sum of the individual house meters. Is the intention for the system to be continuously monitoring the difference and generating an alert whenever a phantom-load is applied somewhere between the pole and the houses ?
This method will of course not detect any phantom-loads on the high-voltage side of the transformer
3) the exact location will inherently be somewhere between the pole and the house - probably at most +/-50 meters - it is not clear how a more precise location-fix would be beneficial

about second answer. yes the intention is for continuously monitoring the difference and generating an alert using zigbee. so if for example, power delivered by distribution transformer to two houses is 16 kw. if anyone of the two hooks the line for stealing. its will draw more power then 16 kw. which will generate an alert ? am i right ?
about third one..is there an device or protocol for determining exact location in terms of meters or any other unit ?

2.energy fed=summation of energy used any diffence-loss gives the idea of theft
3.protocol be built up but should be cost vibal.
