I am an undergraduate student of mechanical engineering and my final research project is to produce hydrogen with SCWG method. I get confused to calculate the Carbon Conversion and Cold Gas Efficiency as two vital indices used for evaluating the performance of gasification because my research is a closed system so there is no flowing mass.
Carbon conversion will be based on the amount of carbon in the final product and the raw material. i don't think it is affected by the method you are using. However, the method may influence the cold gas efficiency. one way to confirm this, is to look at couple of literatures that have used this method and see how those parameters were calculated.
