I am trying to simulate Incremental sheet metal forming for a variable wall angle conical frustum when i use finer mesh size.
I wish to know the following :
1) how do i choose the optimum mesh size for my part ?
2) And how to decide the right mass scaling parameter to hasten my simulation .

If you use finer mesh and use mass scaling, it may be that the mass scaling required for a given increment is too large so that elastic waves and distortions dominate your problem. Reduce the time increment in the mass scaling.
It may go into incremental strain -- the smaller element size means the strain is more isolated and is not resolving within the step.
