I need to filter the Genioglossal Muscle EMG at 100-1000 Hz, that is what the papers suggest. Since i am using somnologica, spike 2 and Ponemah acquisition system, i do not find such options there, however, i have an option in Ponemah-DSI software to filter the signal at 100-1000 Hz but i do not know how to do it. We do have sleepSign also for analysis of sleep data. Can anybody suggest me how to tackle this?

I have no experience with Ponemah or Somnologica, but I have used Spike 2 (for about 3 months a few years ago), and I have captured EMG data from the genioglossus in guinea pigs. This should be a fairly easy thing to do. Wait and see if you get an answer from someone with experience with your systems; if not, I'd be happy to try and help figure this out. As a quick shoot-from-the-hip guess, usually software gives you the options to set filters when you're setting channel names, sampling rates, etc. Do you see a window or menu selection options that allow you to set filter parameters, or is the problem you're having something else?
Gerstner, i appreciate your help. I am able to set filters for EMG in a range of 100-1000 Hz but somehow it doesn't work. We do use spike 2, please provide me some directions how to record Genioglossal of rat by spike 2.
It would probably be best to try the tutorials on the CED website. http://ced.co.uk/tutorials/introduction. These provide help with setting up for data collection and will probably answer all your questions far better than I would be able. Good luck with this.
