not that the median is always risky, take for example you have the following numbers (5, 4.5, 5, 6 , 4, 9, 5, 4.5, 5, 6 , 4) the median in the case would be 9. This would make your results look bad even though it is just one experiment which is out. only in few cases that both mean and median are the same. Nevertheless you can use what you are use too. I am use to arithmetic mean.

the median in the data set you gave is 5, not 9 and mean is 5.3 . i think i will go ahead with median .

Bokang, most folks use mean and SEM for graphing. It is partly preference since the test for significant (p
