I want to purchase GSH/GSSG assay kit, seems deproteination step to remove most of the proteins containing sulfydryl groups. Can some one suggest a kit without having that extra step. Colorimetric or Fluorometric both works for me
I would recommend the GSH-Glo Glutathione Assay kit from Promega (see the link below). The specificity of the assay for GSH is guaranteed by the substrate specificity of glutathione-S-transferase and consequently there is no need for sample deproteination to remove proteins carrying -SH groups. To determine the total glutathione (GSH+GSSG) you can reduce GSSG by TCEP (see the assay manual).
