The topic is on population density of regions and transport energy consumption. A conclusion of the paper is that transport sector of cities located in mid-sized administrative regions consume less than large and small cities and regions, so in case of energy use, they are more sustainable. This makes a link between mobility, energy consumption, population density, and regional planning.
