I need to calculate diffusion through nickel membrane.. I can find many diffusion data tables for metallic species, or foor chlorine diffusion in water, but not for chlorine in metallic crystals.
Yes, that it does for sure. But is there no solubility of atomic chlorine in metallic nickel? If there is no solubility , then of course my original question has no merit.
Chlorine is next to argon in the periodic table. I’d be looking at the diffusion coefficient of this gas in Ni or similar metals to get a feel for the order of magnitude that this is - before the gas reacts. After the gas reacts then it’s the diffusion of chlorine in nickel chloride you’ll be researching....
