There is only about 20-50 mgs of product and i need all DMA must be removed as it will effect to my studies. so all i really need to do is remove the DMA.
are there any co-solvents one can add to help with the lyophilization?
is there something else that i can do to remove the DMA?
any suggestions would be appreciated.

DMA is solvent sometimes used by drug discovery chemists, not common to my mind, but not "rare" either. Vacuum evaporation is the usual removal method, however, you need a really good vacuum so a typical rotoary evaporation is unlikely to give a good result. The systems designed by Genevac will work however is designed for multiple samples in parallel so is likely to be overkill for just one sample. If you have a vacuum oven, with care this may work, however you must take care to catch all the evaporated solvent as this will damage most common vacuum pumps. Freeze drying is theoretically possible, however I know of no systems designed for freeze drying such agressive solvents, so I caution against using DMA in a regular freeze dryer. Better still, capture column and exchange the solvent ... to something easier to concentrate ....
