In the near future I will need DNA sequencing to confirm mutations. Could someone point me in the direction of a cost effective company? The gene itself is around 1300 base pairs. The entire plasmid is 6500 base pairs.
Thanks in advance,
Derek
There are number of Sanger Sequencing providers. Your insert should be OK to sequence with the two universal primers in the plasmid.

You could also consider Next-Generation Sequencing. See for example reviews:
Metzker ML (2010) Sequencing technologies — the next generation. Nature Reviews Genetics, 11, 31–46.
Voelkerding KV, Dames SA, Durtschi JD (2009) Next-Generation Sequencing: From Basic Research to Diagnostics. Clinical Chemistry, 55, 641–658.
Maybe something with lower error rate. The sequencing can be done in many parts.
