Neither EDC nor NHS are catalysts. If they are soluble in THF, you can use them. If they are not, use a carbodiimide that is soluble in organic solvents. I would also include a proton scavenger.

Thanks for the answer, Omar. Is the mechanism for CDI same as EDC/NHS?

I need to react COOH to NH2.

If CDI is carbonyl diimidazole, then yes, it is similar to EDC (NHS is not really necessary).
