The most effective method, which i have been using to remove chlorophyll from leaves is the use of neutral lead acetate, then centrifuge, take the upper phase , add few drops of potassium oxalate ,then centrifuge, take the upper phase. this upper could now be used for various purposes. in my case m i use the upper for the determination of plant hormones by HPLC, CAROHYDRATES,ETC.
You can use a suitable selective solvent for chlorophyll (acetone, methanol, dichloromethane, chloroform, or hexane etc.) that has a different density from the solvent being used to extract your target compounds; then, use a separatory funnel following low-speed centrifugation to separate the solvent mixture (based on density) to remove the unwanted chlorophyll fraction.
