The specific objectives are:
· Theoretical analysis of the stress distribution during rolling and sliding surface contact using hertz theory.
· Numerical analysis of the stress distribution during rolling and sliding contact using FEM abaqus 6.11.
· Investigating the maximum von - mises stress which causes failure and know the region at which failure will be happened.
· Comparing the theoretical result with the numerical result of pressure and friction on the stress distribution.

In FEA based studies the value of sliding or rolling friction plays a major role. Unless you use an appropriate value, you may not get correlation with tests or with theoretical calculations.. So please perform intense literature review, collect the data related to friction and perform FEA
