I am currently looking for two accademics to interview in relation to my PhD. I am looking for people with expertise in the connected concepts of smart communities and smart cities. Any recomendations or suggestions welcome.
Read the book; Smart Communities 2nd ed. How Citizens and Local Leaders Can Use Strategic Thinking to Build a Brighter Future by Suzanne W. Morse and published by Jossey-Bass.
Thanks but I am so far unconvinced of the relevance of this publication. Firstly because it seems to be focussed on a definition of smart communities that fits outside of most of the literature that I have read. Secondly it is primarily focussed on the actions /impact of smart communities rather than engaging with what a smart community is. Your paper is however I think, much more relevant.
I get your point; however, her book is a generalist coverage of the topic; and, my paper is an applied specific approach to actually doing the work of smart communities. So, I recommended her book only as background material and I am certain there are more papers out there on practical applications with more to come as big data predictive analytics matures as a datascience method applied to public policy formulation, implementation and program review and evaluation. But, also smart communities and leader decisions must also embrace a Humanist paradigm which I just recently wrote on.
