I got another question again of the kind of "Why":
Why many anterior pituitary hormones were not granted "tropic" in their names although they are tropic in nature, stimulating (or working on) other glands.
and why those released by Hypthalamus are not honored by "tropic" name although they are working on Pituitary (gland).
In my opinion they are all tropic messengers even if they did not get the title. What do you think? Is there any literature regarding this?
Yes anterior pituitary hormones mostly show some degree of tropism and i guess they are called like this because they were discovered first and very late in scientific evolution we learnt hypothalamus and some other body hormones demonstrating similar pattern.
But i guess do we need to classify these hormones based upon the degree of tropism. Already so many hormones and their classifications.
