I am looking for some lab which is able to prepare transparent hydrogel in blocks, say 100x100x80 mm^3. The composition is the following:
acylamide monomer: 8-15% w/v
cross-linker (N,N ′-methylenebis): 2.5-6% w Catalysis with: ammonium persulphate: 0.075% w/v N,N,N,N ′-tetramethylethylenediamine (TEMED): 0.05% v/v
Preparation in degassed room.
It has been used for experiments on fracturing by fluid injection.
Please let me know if same lab can prepare it or if you have other suggestion. Hydrogel is effective since reduces the speed of propagation of fractures, allowing measurements with a relative slow video camera (100 fps), also because it is transparent.
