Hello Everyone,
I just ran into the work of Boisvert et al., 2019, in which I found fig. 4.2 a bit confusing.
It shows, that Hybodontiformes (pale green) survived till the Miocene, however, as far as I know, this order of sharks went extinct in the Late Cretaceous.
Does anyone have any informations about the last representatives of the order?

Maybe the authors refer to Miosynechodus?

A quick search on the internet appears to have found a Hybodontiform of the genus Miosynechodus in the Miocene of Sri Lanka. I do not know if there has been controversy and if the finding has been confirmed.
