I have HPLC -MS analysis results of Argan oil, and I wanted to make an attempt to identify the different phenols present in this oil the problem what I found in the literature of the same context (from argan oil) large differences between MW of the molecule and that found by MS analysis (for example siringic acid MW 342 while its MW is 198). I want to understand why so know the nature of phenols in oil

The difference you are referring to might be as a result of adduct formation. You should consider this. Provide the literature you are citing for clarification.
The extract was derivatized using BSTFA, hence the observed higher MW reported (This explains your first question). The instrumentation used is different from yours so it won't be helpful to you. Going further, in order to identify the phenols in your oil, I see that you know your expected compounds, It will be very easy and straightforward if you have the standards of those compounds.

I am trying to find out the links that can be made with the phenols in the oil or in the analysis process (as the case of the GC / MS) to determine is explained this increase MW of molecules. otherwise I did not understand the utility standards ?? knowing that I have not used them during the analysis

Atifi , I think the best way to analyse your oil's phenols is to do a Liquid liquid fractionnation between hexane and MeOH, then collect the methanolic phase contaning phenols, reduce it under vacuum and do sililation with BSTFA, filtrate your fraction and do GC-MS, i tried it with my oil samples and it worked perfectly. good luck.
