Autonomous vehicle, robots and rovers are finding applications in space exploration. Which tasks can Autonomous rovers and robots can take over from human (In other planets like mars, or moon or titan etc). How can an army of robots create all the infrastructure that humans needs for settlement?
(1)---Of course autonomous vehicle/rovers plays a big role to explore the deep space. Because it is a type [1] of unmanned vehicle which cannot be remote-controlled by human in real-time (because of speed of the signal, for example, time taken for signal sending to Mars from Earth is between 3 minutes to 21 minutes) [2].
(2)--- So it (as you said above) can be possible by advanced Intelligent rovers (might be developed in the future). Already we know that the artificial intelligent technology is growing and developing exponentially.
(3)---In my opinion, in future, there may be a network of rovers for sending further rovers to explore the deep space, means that (first , the rovers will be developed for Mars planet and then further that intelligent rovers will construct another rovers for exploring the deep space).

I would call it a network of autonomous rovers. Their instruments will perform with a
better resolution and will be more versatile.
Will include deeper drilling, moving radar, etc. Also they will communicate with each other.
An autonomous vehicle can drive itself in space exploration without human's command. This is very important since there is a long time delay between the vehicle sends back the sensed signals to and receives the commands from the human on the earth.
I agree with Aman Parkash in that artificial intelligence could make a distinct progress in exploring the deep space.
