I am working on chromium detection and removal from aqueous medium. I also want to study about the speciation. Kindly suggest me, is there any instrument available for detection of both species separately.
If you are trying to measure your Cr concentration in liquid medium, HPLC coupled ICPMS is the best instrument to go for. The sensitivity of ICPMS is very precise and HPLC will allow you to separate the species of Cr. Apart from that you can also try out ESI-MS/MS if possible, but that might be hard to get compared HPLC-ICPMS.
