I have done a floral dip transformation of Arabidopsis plants using the 5% sucrose suspension of Agrobacterium. 5 days after transformation, I observed some fungal growth near the base area of plants, that I think is probably due to the use of sucrose suspension for floral dip. How one can get rid of such type of fungal contamination?
Hi, if you do your test on green house, use sterilized soil and pots, also use a sterilize water to water you plants.
Dont over water the plants.
Hello, sterilize what you use and use also antifungal agents like nystatin, amphotericin B the polyene antibiotic with a broad spectrum of antifungal action or pentachlorophenol which one of the most commonly used fungicides for soil treatment.
We are working in the field of Medical and Veterinary Mycology since 1973.Though we have not worked on fungal infections of plants, you may try any of the anti-fungal agents, such as actidione, nystatin, gentian violet, fluconazole, mercurochrome etc.
