Well, writing a research manuscript is an intimidating process for many new writers and one of the stumbling blocks is the beginning of the process and creating the first draft. Please share your experience, I will surely motivate and inspire others :)

It was many years ago, so I don't remember exactly that feeling. But from what I remember it was a positive feeling, satisfaction, a kind of success, because it was preceded by years of research.

Smiles. Honest the whole rigor can be intimidating, stressful and discouraging SOMETIMES. I remembered going through the rigorous exercise of analysis of data, putting the write up together into a meaningful manuscript, and then going through the peer review.....got discouraged along the way especially when it comes to paying out of pocket to get article published. But having gone through all of that for the first time, I became stronger and ready to do better, since I have the goal of breaking new grounds in research, bringing solutions into the confusing areas of my Specialty and advancing the medical practice at large. Therefore, when one focuses on the goal, it almost always difficult to get discouraged.
Secondly, one has to climb on the 'shoulders of the giants' to get to ones Goal
Mohd Faizan Siddiqui , any researcher will be happy for sure after having his first article published.
Thanks a lot, Sir for sharing the wonderful experience of yours regarding your first article. Indeed, this guide will be much informative and inspiring for our new author. And yeah, it's really disheartening sometimes when the publisher doesn't offer us the waiver for the outstanding APC ( p.s but I was fortunate to get the best waiver offer, thanks to my amazing and supporting publishers) as it not only discourages us sometimes but also took a lot of time to revise that manuscript to submit it to the next journal. But, when it gets published, surely it's a celebration time :)

This question is marked as solved, but I think it would be interesting to see some more thoughts on the subject.
When I had finished my PhD, I wanted to disseminate my findings on 'Living with faecal incontinence' with nurses.
One of my supervisors co-authored one article and I wrote some others.
Then I printed some out to pass out if I was teaching (at venues local to me as was part of my role as a nurse practitioner).
I wanted to spread the word!

I was very happy when my first paper was published in the Journal of Thermal Biology in 1991.
Much thanks for sharing your experience with us Sir Talal A. Zari . I'm a bit more curious like what was the publication process in the late 90s because I think maybe we have to send the manuscript to the editor via post. Would be delighted if you grace us with your that publishing experience as well :)
