It is very important to tell your research in a good and an effective manner. I began writing it and my ultimate try to deliver it in a precise and concise manner. The book chapter I am working on right now is on Nitrogen fixing bacteria.

Though I am not into nitrogen fixing bacteria, I can tell you that to fix a good chapter is to give it a theoretical background, in which you show how other researchers have dealt with the topic. Once this is done, you may begin to draw the profile of your own contribution as a viable one. The whole thing should be wrapped into a persuasive and convincing argumentation and style (language).

An abstract is necessary at the beginning. Start with an introduction and research questions. Complete a literature review. Then, focus on the methodology that you followed. Present your data in the - Findings section. The last part will include your discussion analysis , conclusion/ recommendations and references. Good luck and hope this is helpful.
Although each contributor has made good assessments, my method involves finding an organic process. The more I read and reference the more my first chapter takes form. The more relevant it becomes. So always remodel and redo.
