a review paper synthesizes the results from several primary literature papers to produce a coherent argument about a topic or focused description of a field.

A review of a certain topic should summerize, organize and critically assess the research efforts done. It should highlight the most segneficant findings, and through the discussion and analysis, should suggest what should be the future work to be done.

A review is all about telling on coherent story of more than a hundred or more different stories. But more importantly, it should cover everything and not be biasd.

Some would think a review can be done in days, the fact is, a review can take up to years

to attain a good and convinceable academic review, please consider the following tips:

1. review papers in a field that you are an expert in.

2. always read well in terms of recent research conducted in the field of knowledge under review.

3. check if the title of the paper you are reviewing tells you something about the topic.

4. double-check if the abstract is in harmony with the discussions presented in the paper.

5. gauge if tables, diagrams, figures are scientifically sound.

6. put an eye on research methodology followed by the researcher, and, is he/she consistent or not.

7. examine the results of the paper. Do they reflect title, abstract, and analysis?

The purpose of a review paper is to review information on a particular topic. The paper actually summarizes the information gathered by the researcher on the topic. For this purpose, abstracting and indexing journals, academic journals, conference proceedings, government reports depending on the nature of the problem should be consulted. The earlier studies, which are similar to the topic should be carefully investigated. Hence a review paper gathers the information from several related sources to produce an interesting result about the topic. When one is writing a review paper he has to (1) Briefly summarize what the paper is about and what the findings are, (2) Try to put the findings of the paper in a summarized form, and (3) Indicate the significance of the work. Hence, it is an understanding of the topic for the readers by discussing the findings of other authors, presented in the reviewed research paper.

1- The review paper represents a summarization of literature and recent research for a specific title.

A review paper summarizes the current state of knowledge by discussing the findings in consulted research papers which are relevant to the topic. While writing a review paper you have to summarize the information from all the research articles you have consulted. You have to analyze and interpret those information in a meaningful way so that you can explain the significance of the topic. Your discussion should illustrate your objectives. A review paper should be written under following headings:

Abstract- consisting of main information of the study.

Introduction- containing background information which should be relevant to the topic, mentioning the scope and purpose of writing the review.

Result- information gathered from consulted literature written briefly.

Discussion- should contain information that focus and support the topic.

Conclusion- should illustrate the significance and broad outcome of the paper.

References- include all those references that have been consulted or cited.

Dear Ahmed H. Maamoun, there are two aspects that must not be forgotten when planning to write a review article. One is that you should have an excellent overview of the current literature in the respective field. The other one is that the review should be timely, which means that it should not duplicate another recent review. Ideally there has been no other review about the particular topic in the past 10 years or so.

Dear Ahmed H. Maamoun, one more aspect you should consider when planning to write a review article is that there are very different types of review articles, e.g. Comprehensive Reviews, Mini Reviews, Tutorial Reviews, Annual Reviews etc. The number of references can range from ca. 50 to over 1000.

almost all papers of necessity contain a review section, one in which the author's thesis is set within the context of historical or current writing. At an extreme, a review paper may become a meta-analysis in which a class of papers on a subject are collected, categorized, and analyzed.

More commonly, however, a review paper takes a specific topic--factors influencing transmission of COVID-19: A Geography--and attempts to organize an existing literture around a general argument or thesis. A review of the topic suggested here, for example, would treat the wealth of reports that have attempted to track Sars-CoV-2 expansion internationally, nationally, regionally and locally, each geography a peg for the consideration of papers in that category.
