I am post doctoral student conducting a qualitative research. One of my thesis correction requirement was for me to state how I validate the researcher as an instrument since the researcher is the key instrument in my research? I have read many references but unable to find method to validate. Can the qualitative experts or doctoral student help?
Validity of a research instrument can easily be done through Structural Equation Modeling - AMOS or any other statistical application.
How to validate the researcher as an instrument in qualitative research?
Since researcher himself / herself is the research instrument in a qualitative research, perhaps you can perform the following to validate the researcher:
Try ROC curves using data or examples presented to your researchers.
These data / examples should be (blinded for your researchers) evaluated by an expert or given a consensus result by a group of experts.
