I want to perform a reaction with mesityl hydrazine, how ever mesityl hydrazine is commercially available as a salt of HCl.

for the coupling reactions as e.g. hydrazone synthesis from carbonyl compounds that may be an advantage, do not need to add additional acid catalyst.

I can not use mesitylhydrazine as salt for my reaction as it is insoluble in DCM which is my reaction medium.

Thank you very much Daniel....I have used satd. NaHCO3 and DCM for the extraction as you have mentioned. It also worked well.
