How to use Lammps for giving displacement under confining pressure?

I would like to study the shear wave propagation. My model is a cubical specimen in which the transmitter particle is given a sin displacement. I would like to do the analysis while subjecting the whole specimen under a confining pressure of 100Kpa. When I try to use fix npt command the pressure is maintained but the atom displacements don't follow the input i gave. Is there a better way to do this?
