The most extensively employed method in the literature for calculating the percent crystallinity from DSC results is through normalization of the enthalpy of fusion (ΔHf) to the enthalpy of fusion of 100 % crystalline polymer. However, utilizing enthalpy of crystallization (ΔHc) for interpreting the crystallization is very rarely seen to be considered (quantitatively or qualitatively). Is there any reason that ΔHc cannot lead to reliable results in this regard? For instance, can increased or decreased ΔHc indicate that crystallization is done easier or more difficult? Are Tc and Tc (onset) better variants than ΔHc to give information about the crystallization behavior in crystallization exotherms?
