I am working on Gephi to develop a visualising complex network of citations and authors connections. Dimensions was recommended to be used to extract data on references/citations into Excel sheets. I would like to know about the process to use Dimensions to form the nodes and edges files for Gephi

as far as I know the Dimensions don't offer such functionality.
But Crossref is a large database of citation data. And with this plugin you can import them with a "one single click"!

in order to be completely precise, it should be noted that probably such mechanism could be developed for Dimensions, but unfortunately the Dimesions platform does not provide its API publicly and free. Here you can read a bit more about it: https://www.dimensions.ai/info/search-api/
However, it seems to me that the advantages of Dimension lie in an interesting analytical functionality, while Crossref gathered more bibliographic records, so if you want to perform the analysis yourself (e.g. using the Gephi application), it is better to download data directly from Crossref.

Thank you. It is evident that you know this area in an excellent way. Is your PhD was in this area?
I am trying to look at top cited articles and see the links and clusters of the authors, many authors have contributed to several items and it would be interesting to study the patterns and connections.
I have the data collected from Web of Science, but I have trouble saving them for no apparent reasons.
What do you think like an expert in this area? I appreciate your suggestions.

My PhD was about scientomeric analysis of mining sciences in Poland.
Unfortunatelly, forgive me but I don't understand your problem. If you have collected data from somewhere that means to me that you already have them saved somewhere. Could you be a little bit more specific?
On the other hand you could tell me what papers you are analyzing (names of journals, period of time, scientific domain). Maybe I could help to find other bibliometric sources.

Thank you so much for your offer to help. I used the Web of Science, and I identified 50 articles on medical professionalism, I saved them, but when I opened the document, it appears to be in a different format compared to the original one. Maybe there is nothing wrong. I did not know how to progress after saving these 50 articles. I tried using Dimensions after watching a YouTube video, but it did not work; this was when I posted my question on ResearchGate. I stopped at this stage and did not get time to read about it or recheck this issue. Thank you again Anna.
First, if you want to analyze citations as you declared at the beginning, check if you document contains refereces. While downloading data from WoS you have many formats available, not all of them are friendly.

I've looked into the datafile you sent me. Obviously, this file was downloaded from the public part of the Dimensions services so it contains a subset of your publication (and some others) including among others the number of being cited so far. But what is the most important this file does not contain information about by whom a given publication is cited. That is why such datafile cannot form the citation graph. Using this file, on the graph would be only nodes representing publications but there would not be nodes representing publication that cite them nor the links between citing and these publications.
The dimensions platform is able to share also raw data including citations but this is a commercial part. More about it you can read at:

Please find attached image that somehow visualise your dataset. But this is of course only some kind of partitioned ranking (not citation analysis). The greater is the node the more frequently is cited. The warmest is the color the latest is the publication year.

Together with Serhii Nazarovets, when we have free time, we will be uploading guidlines of conducting analysis from scratch on this platform.
