Dear researchers I have difficulty in understand the sentence written by Riedel in Fracture at high temperatures (1987):

Firstly, I do not understand the meaning of the cavity shape could influence the cavity sites by reduce the nucleation barrier?

Secondly, I do not understand what does the nucleation barrier refers to?
