Phthalic anhydride wastewater (PhAnWW) have potent endocrine disruptions on aquatic species and have probably carcinogenic and mutagenic effects upon human and it is necessary to treat and manage them. this wastewater have pH near 1 and COD more than 30000 ppm.

I tried Electrooxidation process for treating (PhAnWW), the first step it lose its color and change brown to yellow but the reduction of COD is negligible and after 5 h the color became brown as previous.

is there any other process for treating (PhAnWW)? Its TDS is near 9000 ppm and i think biological activity is not useful.

thanks dear scientists
