I do a reaction that my starting material has the salt of carboxcylic acid and the primary alcohal. I use the triphosgene in acetonitrile and SOCl2. After the reaction is done, I remove the acetonitrile and then added ether and then filter it. Before doing vacuum distillation, I purge the crude to remove the HCl becaus eI noticed that my crude has a lot of HCl and it broke my vacuum pump. I am purging for 4 days and still see the HCl is coming out. Can some body help me what to do to remove the whole HCl because applying the vacuum distillation?
