Google Scholar updates may take some time, but are usually automatic. But google needs to be able to find it of course.
If published in a journal this will happen automatically. If published at a conference, it depends on how the organisers disseminate the paper.
What you can do yourself:
1. if copyright allows it, include it on ResearchGate.
2. if copyright allows it, include it in your institutional repository. both might help Google Scholar find your publication automatically.
3. you can add a publication manually. it will then show on your personal profile, but it will not come out of searches, and it will not accumulate citations.
