Hi everybody,

I purified a recombinant Pathogenesis Related protein belonging to class 10 (PR-10) and I want to test if the enzyme has RNase activity.

I read that is possible to test that activity on Agarose gel under particular condition after the incubation of my protein with RNA total exctract; I want to set another protocol using a fluorimetric assay.

I found RNaseAlert™ Lab Test Kit v2 but data sheet says "The sequence of the RNaseAlert™ substrate has been carefully optimized to detect several RNases, including RNase A, RNase T1, RNase I, micrococcal nuclease, S1 nuclease, mung bean nuclease, and Benzonase™."

In your opinion, can I use this kit to test my protein activity or would I just throw my money?

Thanks for your answers!
