If we have a single carbon nanotube or Si or SiO2 nanowire, decorated with metallic nanoparticles, then how can we take Raman and XPS spectra of that particular NW or CNT?
I don't see any problem for XPS. It is enough to put the NW or CNT on suitable substrate and acquire the photoemission spectra. Suitable substrate - means a substrate that does not interfere with phoroemission spectra of the NW or CNT.
you can acquire XPS spectra by keeping the CNT s and nano wires keeping on platinum or gold coated substrates( silicon for example.) . it would be useful while analyzing the spectra for Binding energy calibration using platinum peak or gold peak.
