Could any tell about the equipment and procedures which are used for water sampling from specific aquifer to determine the water components of each aquifer.
Through multi-level piezometers one can collect water samples from different depths of an aquifer. We had done this type of water sample collection along Kerala Coast in India with the technical guidance from British Geological Society.
You may refer to the following publication:
Rajagopalan S.P and Narasimha Prasad. N.B, 1993, Saline Water Intrusion in Costal Kerala with Special Reference to Dispersion, Fourth National Water Convention., Trivandrum.
It is important that the aquifers are not mixed in order to determine a specific aquifer water quality. What has been suggested by N B Narasimha Prasad is to have piezometers for different aquifers and then pump water from these aquifers. If pump is not available then you could use bailers where you take a sample on a particular depth.
If you go through the above publication of mine on multi-level piezometers, you will understand that we have used a very small portable vacuum pump which will run on 12 volts vehicle battery, to collect water samples from different depths.
