I am trying to synthesize the CeF3 (~10-15 nm) nanoparticles using co-precipitation, polyol and precipitation methods, but the resulting particle size is ~60 nm.
can someone please suggest the method by which I can get the required particle size of CeF3.
you can use any synthisized method , the sample one is the co -precipation method . also you can ues the hydrothermal.
Seems no-one has actually answered the question. Small size is favored by low concentrations and the ability to stop/curtail the growth by processes such as a chain stopper or excessive dilution in the presence of a charge or steric stabilizer.

I have already tried this with co precipitation method using the below procedure, under Argon atmosphere
1) CeCl3.7H2O (1 g, 1 eq) + NH4F (0.3 g, 3 eq)+ Oleic acid (0.16ml), 70 Degree , 70 mL Methanol, 5 hours= size obtained 60 nm.
2) CeCl3.7H2O (1 g, 1 eq) + NH4F (0.3 g, 3 eq)+Sodium laurate (0.1 g) , 70 Degree , 70 mL Methanol, 5 hours= size obtained 60 nm.
@ Swapnil Reduce your concentrations of active by a factor of 10 or 100 and try again.
You mean I should reduce all the reagents in reaction media? and increase the solvent?
