I am trying to stabilise road pavement resting over expansive soils using fly ash admixture. Expansive soil samples taken from Texas and Louisiana shows volume change due to seasonal moisture flactuation. Consolidation test results shows there is a increasing trend of swelling index if percentage of fly ash is increased from 5 to 20%. Though adding cement as a stabilizer shows better results in terms of swelling index. I want to know how this results can be used in the field to stabilise pavement on expansive soil subgrade.
