The error is probably from Excel, not Coral. You could try importing a new spreadsheet from a template file instead of importing an existing sheet, which may be causing the problem.

CPCe drove me crazy. There is a problem with the data export into Excel. I ended up having to export each analysis as an individual spreadsheet. I don't know if they are continuing to update this software as one of the creators has since died.

I have the same problem. I'm trying to transfering the datas to excel but appears "error 1004" and when I open Excel Worksheet nothing appears!! I dont know what is it the problem ... I have Excel Office 365

The problem can be solved by modifying the code... Taking into account this

1.     Code file errors: There is a utility built in to check for code file errors - it is under the 'Utilities'-->'Code File Checker' menu pick.  Run that on the code file and correct any errors that come up.  The file must contain a few things in particular or it will not work.  From the help file:

Due to the requirements of the associated Excel spreadsheets: 1. One of the major categories must be "Coral" 2. The major category TWS (Tape, wand, shadow) must be present, and must be the last category. 3. Each major category must contain at least one species/substrate/etc. entry.

Make sure also that tape/wand/shadow are the last minor categories before notes, i.e.:

"TAPE",  "Tape","TWS" "WAND",  "Wand","TWS" "SHAD",  "Shadow","TWS" NOTES,NOTES,NOTES

You must use exactly the same names and codes

Example: Category code =TWS

Category name =Tape, wand, shadow

I used as example the code that is in the program (that about corals). Note that is important to add 2 coral species (I didn't see them in my images but they were in the code)

After to save your code (that should iclude everything above) you have to use the tool in Utilities --> Code file checker

If there is a problem with the code the code checker will say you where is it

If there is no problem the error will dissapear :)
