I want to conduct a phase change material simulation without any natural convection effects i.e. melting because of pure conduction.
Is it done using
(a) a constant density.
(b) still using boussinesq density but a zero thermal expansion coefficient.
(c) some other method different than the two of the above.

Muhammad Mahabat Khan using a zero value for thermal expansion coefficient is equivalent to turning off gravity, right?
Actually by making thermal expansion coefficient zero you are effectively making the density constant (which is physically not true) but the source term rho*g will still be there in the momentum equation.
Muhammad Mahabat Khan but isnt the density already considered a constant in boussinesq approximation, except for its use in the momentum equation.
