Hello friends

I am conducting a research to see which type of coping is contributing more towards life satisfaction.

I have taken two coping style (Independent Variables)

1. Trust in God (5 items)

2. Trust in medical help.(4 items)

(Items are taken from AKU questionnaire (AKU is an acronym of the German translation of “Adaptive Coping with Disease”) addresses adaptive coping strategies in response to chronic illness. All items are scored on a 5-point scale from disagreement to agreement (0 - does not apply at all; 1 - does not truly apply; 2 - don’t know (neither yes nor no); 3 - applies quite a bit; 4 - applies very much). The sum scores were referred to a 100% level (transformed scale score). Scores > 50% indicate high agreement or utilization of coping strategy, while scores < 50% indicate low usage of respective strategy ).

Further I have used Satisfaction with life scal. It is a 5-item scale designed to measure one’s satisfaction with life in general . Participants indicate how much they agree or disagree with each of the 5 items using a 7-point scale that ranges from 7 strongly agree to 1 strongly disagrees

I want to see

1. which strategy is contributing more towards life satisfaction? (Will do so by t test)

2. some patients are using both of the strategies so how i will assess the interaction effect? like if combined which one is having more effect?

Can you people plz provide me help and guide me which stats to use for my second objective.
