Hi, I tried to run a mediation analysis in which the DV is made up of test scores after a training in the experimental group VS the control group, and in which the mediator is measured by a Likert-scale based questionnaire.
The aim is to understand whether the mediator has had a different impact on performances following the two types of training, but it seems I cannot run a mediation analysis with samples with different numerosity.
How can I bypass this problem?

Here's an idea, although I'm not an expert. Do a mediation analysis for each group. Compare the beta of the mediator predicting the DV in the control group with the same beta in the experimental group. If the two betas are significantly different, you can say that the mediation was different.
I believe it is difficult to run a mediation analysis with two different samples at the same time. As Dr David stated that you could run a mediation analysis for each group and compare the results.
