Please suggest a rinsing method for organic nanoparticles, after exposing it to the sensitizing solution. Will agglomeration occur after centrifugation and redispersing it in deionised water??
Your particles may or may not survive centrifugation and re-dispersion in deionized water. This will depend on how they are stabilized (electro-static, steric, or combination of the two) and how this change from your solution to water will affect the stabilization. It might be best to follow a published recipe if available. Other ideas could be buffer exchange by dialysis or ion exchange resins.
Thank you for the reply. The particles are stabilized by electrostatic attraction in deionized water containing sodium stearate. Will they destabilize if I rinse them with deionized water (going from colloidal solution to water) after sensitization?
