I have a satellite image covering a large geographical area. Its current projection is Geographic (WGS 84). I want to re-project the image into UTM WGS 84. The area is in two UTM zones. I tried to select one of the UTM zones using ERDAS, but the re-projected image does not look fine.
I would appreciate any suggestion in this regard.

the solution in such cases is to work on one common system, especially for large-scale studies
so the question is why you want to change the coordinate systems

The best function for solving your problem is the project raster in ArcGSI You need to re-project both images from different zones to the bigger zone, it works properly without any problem. Another way is to project your data based on the Lambert Conformal Conic that you need to define some parameters based on the your study area!
