I have prepared organogel using DMSO as solvent. The organogel is loaded with highly water soluble substances. Now i want to remove DMSO owing to it toxicity.
Freeze-Drying (Lyophilization): This method involves freezing the organogel and then reducing the surrounding pressure to allow the frozen DMSO to sublimate directly from the solid to the gas phase. Freeze-drying can effectively remove DMSO without applying heat, which is beneficial if the water-soluble substance is heat-sensitive. However, it's important to verify that the gel's structure remains intact during this process.
