How we can remove a titanium catalyst after esterification reaction? Adding water gave a white gel of titanium hydroxide which is very difficult to remove. Is there any way to remove this ppt? Or any other way to remove titanium?
Neutralization via addition of sodiumhydroxide solution followed by separation of aqueous and organic layer is the procedure. But as the NaOH solution is added whole the mass turn to thick ppt which is not separable to aqueous and organic layers. Any clue to solve this problem?
Celite bed filtration [create a strong vacuum if needed], make sure you wash with any chlorinated solvent. Or else think of silica gel chromatography

Try adding brine (saturated aq. NaCl) and see it it will break up emulsion to get you two layers.

Tartaric acid might help (i.e. Sharpless epoxidation).

in the article dx.doi.org/10.1002/anie.201107601 they got rid of the Ti(OiPr)4 by complexation of Ti with EDTE (ethylendiamine-tetraethanol). I hadn't checked this method yet, but it looks promising
You can separate the ester by vaccum distillation. Other way is adding CH2Cl2 or CHCl3. They will dissolve ester but not titanium salt or oxide and then by filtration you can separate the titanium catalyst.
Add only enough conc. aq. NaOH to destroy the catalyst. Add silica gel, stir well, then filter.
