I want to disperse nanoclay in epoxy resin. I used 10 mL of the resin which has viscosity of 800 cps at 25 degree Celsius. I added nanoclay to it and probe sonicated at 36% amplitude for 20 minutes. The 20 minutes included 10 seconds on off cycles or pulses. Now, the epoxy is getting heated up because of too much energy. Will maintaining the resin in a ice bath cool down epoxy. Since it is a thermal insulator will not the inner layers remain hot ?
