Hello Everyone,

Due to an oversight, a set of Workplace Emotions scale items (10 items) were incorrectly coded in Qualtrics as: 5 = Never, 4 = Rarely, 3 = Sometimes, 2 = Often, 1 = Very Often, and 6 = Always. Data were collected with the above scale coding.

The correct scale should have been: 1 = Never, 2 = Rarely, 3 = Sometimes, 4 = Often, 5 = Very Often, and 6 = Always.

I tried to recode the data in SPSS, and while the output seems to align with the intended transformation, I would appreciate a second opinion to ensure the recoding process is correct. Specifically, I want to know if the frequency distributions after recoding correctly reflect the proper scale. Below, I have shared the frequency tables for one item (Anger) before and after recoding. Could you please review the output and advise if the recoding was done correctly? Any additional tips or best practices for handling such data issues would also be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your support.
