Personalized learning combined with diverse knowledge sources enable students to learn different things. Schools need to measure learning for accountability purposes but how to reconcile accountability with personalized learning?

In my point of view, a useful educational system is based on the
principle that each student represents a unique
combination of abilities and educational needs
and deserves individual help at various times
throughout schooling to achieve important outcomes.
That kind of schools
are organized around learning supports, not programs
and services. In a useful educational system,
all types of resources provide learning supports
in a range of settings to students with
unequal educational needs. Although these individualized
education plans meet many accountability
requirements of both federal and state regulations,
they often do not serve teachers well. Because teachers share
accountability for all students and the teachers should ensure that all students
are effectively educated.
