Hello! I'm struggling when meshing a tensile test with a notch. The simulation seems fine at first, but when stretching, the elements on the notch get extremely deformed and the simulation eventually crashes.
Any idea of how I could do that?
The simulation is an axisymmetric standard/implicit simulation. Also, I'm using UMATHT subroutine to simulate hydrogen diffusion.

You should consider partitioning the geometry in order to be able to assign a structured mesh that is even able to be controlled in order to have higher density in areas of interest.
Consider something like the image provided in the attachment.
